Though Adobe Flash might be getting hit hard in the web and mobile markets, we at Graphite Lab still use Adobe Flash for lots of non-web related tasks such as traditional animation, user interface [via scaleform GFX middleware] and illustration.
One of our current projects requires us to do some massive exporting from Flash using PNG sequences – which gave us a bit of trouble until a successful round of research lent the solution to our little problem.
While trying to export PNGs of an animation nested within a movie clip we noticed that it was exporting only the first frame over and over – which wasn’t at all what we wanted. We tried several different steps before realizing that a movie clip on the root will not preview or export nested animations, but a graphic will. So we made that quick fix and are now on our way to exporting PNGs with ease!
